Netflix Dominates the Streaming Online Content Business

Netflix is a giant in the streaming online content business, with more than 20 million subscribers and 20,000 movies and TV programs for its online product. Surprisingly, it has yet to attract much competition in the space.

In spite of its success, Netflix remains alone in streaming lots of movies and TV shows for a monthly fee. Perhaps it is because they are too powerful to attract competitors, but that scenario is likely to change. Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Best Buy are all eying the space, and Hulu and Dish are pondering similar moves as well. Netflix is still focused on growing its business, but with its US market close to saturated the company is looking overseas to expand. Hollywood would love to see more competitive pressure on Netflix, because they fear that Netflix is getting too big, too fast.
