Live TV on PC and iPad

According to Steve Jobs, the iPad 2 heralds the beginning of the post-PC era. However, given the fact that the iPad is by any measure a type of computer, that distinction seems mostly promotional. The iPad, however, is part of another kind of revolution as more people then ever are choosing to watch live TV on PC and tablets as opposed to standard television set.

As far as delivering film and TV is concerned, Apple has the upper hand on other devices thanks to iTunes. If you have Apple TV or a home theater PC, you may already be watching downloads of Blu-ray and DVD movie releases. The iPad 2 has a mirroring feature which gives it the ability via Apple's Digital AV Adapter or VGA Adapter to display every app, web page, presentation, video, movie or photo on an HDTV. Its ability to output 1080p resolution with surround sound gives it the potential to be a highly effective device for delivering visual entertainment.
